How do we get to Truckee River Rafting

Don't be confused! Truckee River Rafting is one of TWO raft companies in Tahoe City located NEXT DOOR to one another. We are closest to the stoplight!
What do we wear
Shorts/bathing suits- footwear is mandatory; sandals with secure straps or water shoes are best but flip flops are okay.
Can we bring food and drinks
Small coolers are welcome (no larger than 18" x 24" coolers, and must be under 20 pounds each) NO metal or styrofoam coolers and NO glass are allowed. Alcohol is permitted but please drink responsibly. Remember, there is an alcohol ban over the July 4th holiday period.
What should we NOT take along
Don't bring towels-they just get wet- or any valuables you wouldn't want to loose or get wet. For example: rings, wallets, purses, cameras or keys etc... We do sell waterproof cameras in our Truckee River raft store, and have lockers available as well.
How long does it take to float the Truckee River to River Ranch
The trip can take 2-3 hours, depending on the river level/flow and how often you chose to stop along the way.
How deep is the Truckee River
Most of the Truckee River is 3-4 ft deep, with a few ponds that are up to 20 ft deep.
Are there any rapids or waterfalls
There are 5 sets of rapids; however, the last set of rapids just before River Ranch are the most challenging. We supply life vests for everyone, as it is quite easy to get bounced into the water. There are no waterfalls.
Can my kids go without me
Children 15 years and older may float alone with a signed parental disclaimer.
Can I raft alone
No, there needs to be at least two persons over 15 years of age in a raft; however, you may rent a single floatation tube that we now offer.
Where do we get out of the river
All rafters exit the Truckee River at the River Ranch pond, at the bottom of Alpine Meadows road. Our docks are on the right hand side.
Can we take dogs
Yes, Truckee River Rafting allows dogs. They must be under 50 pounds and leashed.
Are there any age restrictions
Two years old is the youngest we allow, however, certain circumstances are allowed if okayed by staff. The elderly are not advised to raft, as the Truckee River float can be jarring and bumpy in spots.
Are there restrooms along the way
We have placed portable restrooms about every mile on the river bank next to the bike trail. We also have restrooms at our launch, and at the River Ranch shuttle pick-up area.
Do we share our raft with other people
No, only your party is in your raft/rafts.
Can we fish
No fishing poles are allowed. Neither are hooks or pointy poles, but feel free to bring a net!
What is your cancellation policy
You must cancel 24 hours in advance of your trip for a full refund.
How cold is the Truckee River's Water
Refreshing! 65-70 degrees fahrenheit.
Where does the Truckee River end up
It flows east through Reno and ends in Nevada's Pyramid Lake.
